I am a very lucky man. I have one of my hobbies as my profession since I am working with weather as a meteorologist at SMHI (the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute). Although not any more a weather forecaster (I have shifted into the area of weather satellite and climate research), my fascination for weather is still high and I follow closely what happens weatherwise. My fascination for snow and snowfall has been there already from the early years, probably explaining this very odd (in view of my family roots) professional path in life.
Scandinavia is a fascinating part of the world where weather often changes dramatically from day to day and, of course, from season to season. In this page I will try to give you (if you are interested) some insight into the meteorological world, in particular from the Scandinavian perspective. For the moment I have only a few links to my own working field and some generally interesting sites and to weather information in general. Later on I hope to add more material.
